8. U.S. Citizenship
Before offering employment to a non-citizen and to ensure that the judiciary may legally employ the non-citizen, the court unit’s human resources representative should obtain approval from the AO’s Office of General Counsel (OGC). Next to question 8, “Are you a U.S. Citizen?” indicate the name of the person contacted in OGC, the date of approval, and the initials of the court representative.
9c. Federal Severance Pay
Should an employee be appointed under a qualified federal appointment before his/her severance pay ends, the entitlement to severance pay will end. Applicants should provide human resources with contact information for the former agency so arrangements can be made to stop severance pay.
