Susan M. Leeson
Oregon Senior Judge Susan M. Leeson served on the Oregon Supreme Court and the Oregon Court of Appeals. She completed basic mediation training in 1993 and regularly participates in continuing education programs for mediators. In 1995, she initiated the Settlement Conference Program for the Oregon Court of Appeals. She has served on the board of the ADR Section of the Oregon State Bar.
Judge Leeson has mediated hundreds of cases as a private mediator and as a community volunteer in Marion County. She taught ADR courses at Willamette University College of Law, the University of Bridgeport College of Law, the University of Oregon School of Law, and most recently a mediation class at the U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon. She is a mediation trainer for Neighbor-to-Neighbor in Marion County. Presently, she is listed in "The Best Lawyers in America" in the Speciality of Alternative Dispute Resolution.
Judge Leeson is currently a part-time staff mediator for the Oregon Federal District Court and maintains a private mediation/arbitration service. She also lectures throughout the country for civic education groups. She holds a Ph.D. in government and was on the faculty for many years at Willamette University.
