The United States District Court for the District of Oregon continues to closely monitor the national response to the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) and follows guidance provided by the Administrative Office of the United States Courts (AO) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Court operations within the District of Oregon are currently governed by Standing Orders 2022-23 and 2023-1. Any future changes or updates will be posted on this website and communicated as appropriate.

The Clerk’s Office intake counters are open to the public.
Clerk’s Office staff are also available to assist by phone. The District Clerk's Office in the Portland, Eugene, and Medford courthouses do not accept cash payments. Filings will continue to be accepted electronically, by mail, and by deposit in drop boxes located in the lobbies of the Portland, Eugene, and Medford courthouses. No person may pay a fee by leaving the payment in any of the Court's drop boxes, however. Fees paid by check or money order may be delivered via U.S. mail, or in person at one of the Court's public intake counters. Registered users of CM/ECF and persons applying to practice before this Court may pay fees using a credit card via Pay.gov.

If you are scheduled for a Naturalization Ceremony, please contact Citizenship and Immigration Services as indicated in the USCIS notice of appointment.
During the COVID-19 outbreak, the Court is scheduling some hearings by videoteleconference and teleconference. Unless otherwise permitted by the presiding judge, case participants who receive teleconference or videoteleconference connection information from the Court for the purpose of participating in a proceeding may not re-distribute the connection information. Members of the public who would like to attend a remote proceeding by telephone may call the District Clerk’s Office in the appropriate Division for information about how to dial in. Local Civil Procedure Rule 83-13 prohibits recording proceedings conducted remotely by teleconference, videoconference, or by any other means of electronic communication.
Until further notice, the Court will not host external events, such as continuing legal education programs.
